We had a short meeting to go over the status of the magnet move.
Ray and Paul were at SLAC last Wed-Fri. They were able to add the support fixtures to the valve box, but the drawings of the access holes to the thermal shield did not match the drawings, so the stabilizing fixtures Paul designed did not fit. He and Mike took measurements and Paul has designed new fixtures. Mike Racine has seen what we want to accomplish and has agreed to install them. The crates from Transpac were all ready, and Mike Racine may have altedy packed up the valve box. We missed the easy window of opportunity to access to End Station A, so access will have to fit into a maintenance day TBD. The shipper needs 5 days advance notice and the trip is planned for 7 days (with one weekend).
Dave said the area in 912 is ready to accept the magnet through Door 9. The wide slings from SLAC are either 50 or 60 feet long, and Paul and Dave were looking into whether the certifications are available. The 40 ton crane in 912 is in the process of being recertified and should be ready when the magnet arrives.
Next meeting: Wed, Sep 17 1pm. We'll discuss the status of the move. Let's also plan to discuss the steps needed to modify the stack, install the valve box and power supply, connect to cryo and power supply, and test the magnet at BNL.
