This is not formally
minutes ... but I'd just like to make use of the mailing list
archive as some sort of records. From what I could hear today in the meeting : 1. John Haggerty has asked a couple engineer/technician to try to index the documents that we've received from SLAC and he'll take the flanges to SMD. --- After the meeting, John and I walked over to the building opposite to SMD and found "Copy Service". Apparently, it's not free. John will take a binder to let them print and then access what quality of pdf files we get vs the price that they charge. 2. As far as I can understand, what's preventing us from starting to do the "inspection and acceptance" is the -- electrical schematics (which we'll hopefully find after the document indexing effort) ; -- some workers' training that needs to be finished ; -- port cover/flange modification that still need to be done. 3. David Phillips' "speech" and drawings let us conclude that we'll choose his "simpler" option that we will try to do the low-current test as soon as possible (without trying to lift the magnet on a base etc.) and do the work for the surrounding magnet for the high-power test separately (which can happen in parallel when possible). David (and Jim Mills?) will come up with some approximate timeline for our expectation for the low-power test and the high-power test. |
