Hi,
Piyush, thanks a lot ! 2.3 H is close to what Ansaldo has measured ~20 years ago (2.19 H). That’s good. This cleared the worry of early inductance measurements with AC (which obtained the value of 0.074 H at 20 Hz).
Just in case people wondered. Ray Ceruti has also confirmed to me earlier that he’s done the leak checks (using mass spectrometer etc.) as prescribed by the Traveler (for Inspection/Acceptance). So, to me, the “Inspection/Acceptance” has been successfully completed (even though we haven’t got a copy of the completed Traveler with results yet from Henry Hocker) and the solenoid magnet properties at room temperature seems proper J
… A smart engineer commented to me that you never know until it’s cold J I guess we’ll see ….

Kin, DC inductance of the Babar-sPhenix magnet was confirmed to be 2.3H. Measurement was done today morning by ramping the magnet to 2A at 0.1A/S and deducing Ldi/dt voltage from total voltage across it. Attached are the plots showing voltages and current.
