0) The two powerpoint files can be found from the agenda page : https://indico.bnl.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=1144 1) Roberto has graciously listed all the connections (that he knows) at the beginning of his powerpoint. We have examined all of them and kind of assigned responsibilities as follows. Not all the parties attended the meeting, so please let me know if you disagree etc. Connections page no. in pptx Group/person responsible ===================================================================== All temperature/flow/pressure/valve control 2, 9 R. Than's Cryo group (C-AD) Strain Gauges 3 M. Anerella (SMD) Potentiometer (formerly known as LVDT's) 4 M. Anerella (SMD) Vacuum 4 M. Anerella (SMD) Differential Voltage 4 P. Joshi (SMD) Power Supply 4 I. Marneris/B. Lambiase (C-AD) 2) Roberto went through some purchases made and future purchases and then about 50 pages of his slides for the upcoming PCSS review (May 22, 2015). Roberto has some slides (place holders) for the magnet mechanical design discussion for the PCSS review but M. Anerella should really provide those or add/delete ... D. Phillips has agreed to provide a page for the support structure for the test. 3) We've somehow also discussed about the power supply system and the DAQ for the high-field test (and beyond). For the power supply (used for the high-field-test), one idea seems to be that if money/time allowed, Piyush's quench protection system monitors the current and/or voltage of the power supply but the power supply is controlled elsewhere via a PSI (Power Supply Interface). But in principle Piyush's system can control and monitor and Piyush was not in the meeting. We obviously need to discuss with him (in a small group). And people (such as D. Phillips) like to have a block diagram for the entire DAQ system --- which I hope Piyush and/or Paul Giannotti may help to create such a thing. 4) Jon Hock showed us his new design for the yoke/pole-tip arrangements for the high-field test. He has also made a first cost estimate for making the steel yokes, which was over $400K, but this no. includes riggers' charge that shouldn't be included. So, it may be just $300K but this is just a first estimate :-) |
