Hi, I've written down what I've learnt from the archaeology of BaBar documentation about the "Coil (center) and Cryostat" in the following webpage : https://collab.external.bnl.gov/sites/sPHENIX-Magnet/SitePages/Parameters.aspx { We may add more parameters later. } Pasquale, Mike Anerella and (for the cryostat) Paul Kovach have all helped me. The table shown in the webpage was initiated by/modified from Pasquale (email communication). The most peculiar part is about defining the center of the coil --- as Wuzheng has needed. From the weighted calculations shown in the webpage, both the magnetic and geometric center is 1756 mm (from the lead end OR the non-lead end). I've written down where I got the information from (for myself a few years or even a week later ... or perhaps for everybody). And inside the cryostat, the coil is like moved by about 28.5 mm to the non-lead-end. Our survey measurement of the cryostat is 3848.88 mm, which is only 0.62 mm shorter than what the as-built drawing shown (3849.5 mm). I intend to make this page as "authoritative" as possible. Please let me know if you find any kind of mistakes/typos. Kin |
