Hi,

1.   As you can see below, Ray is trying to do the pressure/leak test as soon as possible and we hopefully we'll quantify the leak rate which is hopefully tolerable.
Then, we can move the Valve box above the sPHENIX Magnet.

2.  This morning, we have just finished a meeting with people from the ERL (Energy Recovery Linac), VTF (Vertical Test Facility), other electron-facility experts/users
and Ilan Benzvi, Joe Tuozzolo, Phil Pile and Yousef Makdisi et. al.

It seems that while ERL will be installing the solenoid,  we'll have a time-window for the Cryo Group to do the field-joint for the modified He pipeline (which requires 8 days).
Then, we'll try to find another window of 8-10 days to do the real low-field test.   We stated that it's difficult for us to do test beyond Feb. (as the DAQ system may not be available).
Ilan has kind of promised that if it's clear (in Dec.) that the laser installation  looks to be delayed, he'll try to find some time window for us to finish the low-field test.

Hi All,

Since I see that M Gaffney is out, this will refer to Mario.  We are finally ready to perform a leak test on the helium system of the XPhenix valve box in Bldg. 912.  There is a small leak that is expected to show but we need to go through with this test to determine the actual leak rate.  Please let me know a convenient time to schedule this test.  Total time shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes or so.

Regards,

Ray
