sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

The return spool is nearly complete and the supply spool is starting fabrication.  The goal is the have at least both of those lines complete on the 6^th.  The coax will come later now, which is acceptable since that does not impact the welding.

I did not get update from Wencan, but we will touch base with him.

Hopefully the valvebox gets moved, and it free up the scaffold we can set it up for the field joint work.

Hi,

 

2 days ago.  I ran into Wencan Xu in the corridor and he told me that their ERL solenoid replacement is set to start on Nov. 16, in consideration of our modified pipeline arrival. He claimed that their stuff will arrive next week already.

 

I wonder whether you have heard about this date of Nov. 16 (for solenoid replacement).  Is our Chicago company still firm on shipping our modified pipeline on Nov. 6 ?

 

I just think to let you guys know before I board my flight ... If it's really Nov. 16 (Mon.) and we have our VJ line, you guys could think about warming up in the weekend before.

 

Please keep me posted and I will be checking my emails all the time ...
