sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Summary of sPHENIX Magnet Meeting from 11/12/15:

 

Ray Ceruti reported:

-          Valve Box is attached to the Magnet.

-          He lines from Valve Box to Magnet are connected.

-          50 psi He leak check was completed for connections.

-          It is believed that the Magnet was previously purged with He, causing a high background which prevents leak checking with He (who did this?).

-          Electrical leads are electrically isolated from the cooling lines by two layers of 5 mil kapton.

-          Hy-pot test needs to be done (traveler is ready).

-          Ray needs location of temperature sensors.

-          All Dog House wire connections need to be completed.

-          New V-Tap Board is mounted, needs to be wired.

-          Dog House Heat Shield need to be reviewed (P. Kovach/ M. Anerella).

 

Roberto Than reported:

-          Warm piping will start soon.

-          Cryo Group will do the vacuum pump hook-up.

-          Roughing pumps will be located on the Valve Box Platform.
