sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Hi,

From Dave Phillips and Paul Orfin, I understand that the modified pipelines (spools) necessary for the field-joint work are now in the BNL receiving area.
Somehow the driver of that carrier left before we could reach the receiving area, and since Paul told us that we don't need those spools right away and
they are still working on the warm pipes etc., it's decided to have the BNL riggers to bring those spools to Bldg. 912 next Tuesday --- in the regular
schedule of BNL riggers.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing, the ERL guys seemed to have a "fixing" idea that they'd test it today to see whether they could fix their RF cavity voltage
problem without having to bring the gun to be cleaned outside BNL.  ( If that idea worked, what I said before about "totally our own schedule" wouldn't be
true any more. )  But in any case, I talked with Wencan a couple days ago, he said that they'd honor Nov. 30 day for us to do the field-joint work in any case.
Because in reality, even their new idea worked, they'd then need to open and fix that Cryo part before they could really go back to run ERL regularly.
