3.5 m length About 14 mm total contraction, ~0.4% overall or about 7 mm each side.
Roughly 40% contracted, so 5.6 mm total or 2.8 mm each side.

Hi,
While the temperature now got down to about 227 K, I went to check on the two DAQ systems in Bldg. 912 this evening. I’ve found that since Feb. 28 (Sunday) 4:24:26 am, linear-pot. 4 has suddenly dropped to 0 (or 0.0001). The other pots read ~<0.1 inches and the differences for pots 1-3 are ~0.137, 0.121 and 0.116 inches. I wonder what’s wrong ??
You may see the plot : linear-pot 2016-3-1 6 pm.jpg
No such thing (as far as I can see) for the strain gauges. I plot the last 4 strains in strain “2016-3-1 6pm.jpg”.
I attach the relevant DAQ files (from the two systems) :
Run 27 Strain Gauge2-18-2016 5 31 PM.xls --- converted to strain (in Labview) Run 27 voltage of Strain Gauge2-18-2016 5 31 PM.xls --- raw voltage without converting to strain
02-18-1755.txt (DAQ data containing linear pot).
