Hi,
Attached is the plot of the MT01, one of the thermometer for the magnet coil. I’d just like you to see that it’s gone <4.5 a couple times (Fri./Sat.). It warmed up because the Cryo group needs to build up the “inventory” of Liquid He and so it warmed up (or what they called “drifted”) naturally. It’s now like at 20 K or so.
This morning, we did the hipot test (>500 V) and it passed (with negligible leakage current). Sonny also checked all the voltage taps (by measuring their resistance) and they’re all there. So, no damage has happened during the cool-down J
So hopefully, Roberto will magically set the system to 4.5 K again at 10 am tomorrow morning. Joe, Sonny and Piyush (whom I’ve just called) should be available to ramp up to 100 A finally. We have to finish the test in 7 hours --- the most the Cryo can sustain each time J Roberto said that they’d need 1.5 days to rebuild their inventory. Maybe, Piyush can test his quench detection on Thur. or Fri. while I’ll be in Panama.
