sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Hi Bob,

 

Under our babar server (\\bnl.gov\c-adnas\babar), there is the new directory  “100 A Test”.

 

I’ve copied the data including the strain gauge (in xls) and then there are files (“txt”) under two

sub-folders “slow logger” and “fast logger”.    

 

“slow-logger” contains the data routinely logged every 15 minutes like now or every minute (on Mar. 22, 2016,

the “100 A test day”). 

 

“fast-logger” constains the data when the system was “quenched” --- we artificially did that in order to have

fast-logger data on Mar. 22, 2016.  

 

All the files have the timestamped and the columns are labelled so that you may be able to guess what they mean.

 

Eg. in the previous email, I made that “superconducting => non-superconducting conversion” plot using column B

(time) and column H (Total Coil Voltage-Tap) of the file “3-22-1615.txt” in the “slow logger” directory.

 

I’ll probably copy a few more files before the system was taken back to the Superconducting Magnet Division. 

 

Ask Piyush what those column means if you can’t guess.   I’ll be in Panama for ~3 days starting from tomorrow.
