Paul Orfin expects the magnet to be warm in about 7 days.

 

Once the magnet is warm and the final coil resistance measurement is made, is it correct that all instrumentation can then be removed?

 

So please plan to start next Wednesday (4/6) all steps necessary to work toward the removal of the valve box.

This will of course wait for final word that the magnet is warm.

 

The shielding block platform will be removed after the Valve Box is removed, so all equipment, cables, electric power and cable tray must also be removed.

 

If Riggers are required to move equipment, please let me know before the end of the day Thursday (3/31).

Can you please let us know what your estimation is regarding to Dave’s question ?   I understand that he’d like to move the

sPHENIX Magnet aside and then build the platform (for the full-field test) and put the Magnet back to the original location

after the platform is built.

 

The outlet temperature is almost 148 K.  The warm-up rate seems 0.8 K/hour, which is ~19 K/day. 

ð  (295-148)/19 = 7.7 days.   So, some time next week, the Magnet will be warm enough ??

 

Could you please let us know in this mailing list ?  Even if you have answered Dave, can you just please take trouble

to “cut and paste” your answer here ???
