1.   John Cozzolino made a ~10 page powerpoint presentation in which
     --- he compared this force calculation with Wuzheng's, pretty close ;
     --- showed that the B-field < 5 G when they're several meters from the center of the Solenoid;
     --- the axial force would increase from 31K pounds to 62K pounds if the coil offset is changed from 3 cm to 4 cm.
     --- some deflection distribution on the side wall with a max. of 0.011 inch.

He's limited access to Jon Hock's Creo solid model and he's going to contact Jon for more information (as Jon has come
back from vacation :-)

( John's powerpoint may be found :

2.  Brett Parker is working on the issues of eddy current during a quench on the sPHENIX magnet in the full-field configuration as well
    as the sPHENIX configuration.

I gave Brett Wuzheng's Opera model but since Wuzheng used "preprocessor mode" to model, it's not easy for Brett to modify/add things.
So, Brett is now using John Cozzolino's model by importing a  .SAT file.   He shared with us what he's observed so far (such as there is
a vertical force etc.).

He's going to do some detailed calculations ... but his impression is that unless there is some asymmetric factor, since the current is flowing
through the entire coil system, he found it difficult to find abrupt forces to severely damage the magnet.

John Haggerty asked whether the box configuration would create some asymmetry and therefore some weird forces to damage the Magnet.
Brett didn't think it's likely as the variations throughout the system is small.   He put down in his notebook to take a look again later.

3.  I sent out ~10 emails to check with various status and I got 3 replies which I reported during the meeting :

(a) Pablo Rosas (Power Supply) :
   --- They're still working on getting the all the testing done on both the PS and dump resistor;
   --- They have done a heat run of the resistor by itself and all is OK;
   --- They've got a new magnet load to run the PS to 3000 A but there are still several items that they need to finish before they can put power to the load.

(b) Zeynep  Altinbas/ Carl (quench detector / DAQ ) :
Zeynep is waiting for Carl to provide the technical specifications … Meeting next week ?

(c) J. Muratore ( Low-Field test report writing ) :

He's now working on the description of the experimental set-up and the list of tests that were done.  Result section is to follow.

4.  People also ask about the progress of the Extension works being done in the Central Shop (BNL).  I'm checking with Paul Kovach (by emails and phones)
     but has't had any luck so far.
