Hi Richard, Len, Tom et.
al., During today's choreography meeting, I suddenly remembered and thought about how those strain gauge, old voltage tap and cryogenic cables are going to be routed. So, I asked Paul Giannotti. Paul and I just discussed it in the last half hour (trying to remember things etc.). It seems that : 1. we need to make ribbon cables ("twist and flat") to extend the cables from the old doghouse (attached to the magnet coil), through the Extension (which is being made), to reach the new doghouse so that they can be connected with those D connectors from the ValveBox (at top). 2. these cables should be routed through the Extension before we lift the Extension 20 ft (or whatever) high up to connect between new/old doghouse. Paul has good very good technician to make those ribbon cables (which are very likely available) for at least the strain gauge and old voltage taps. Do you want Paul to help make those ribbon cables for you ? ( You can connect these cryogenic ribbon cables after Paul's technician make them for you. ) Or you want to take care of them all by yourself ??? Kin |
