Agenda/powerpoint :
https://indico.bnl.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2450 1. I first reported briefly what we have discussed during last Wed's choreography meeting (called by J. Mills) and the thoughts after that meeting. We need to prepare and make cable connections connecting the old doghouse and the new dog house, through the Extension for all the Cryo, strain gauge and old voltage tap cables. We'll use the same platform to support the Valve Box as in the low field test. 2. J. Mills/Ed O'Brien told us that they've already requested for the quote to make the 12 brackets (jack supports) but so far they haven't received any yet. 3. Two technicians from the Superconducting Magnet Division will come to help to tap and drill holes on the steel pieces used for the high-field test flux return. They'll be supervised by R. Ceruti and work with J. White/J. Hock. 4. J. Mills heard from M. Anerella that the work to make the components for the Cryo Extension in the Central Shop should be completed by the end of this Oct. And they'll be assembled in 902 afterwards. 5. C. Schultheiss reported that he's finished designing an anti-aliasing board and he'll organize a review for the data readout/acquisition system (and the like) in about 2 weeks. 6. The Cryo can only do some small things such as the burst disk and the heaters (for the current leads) before the steels and support are ready for the Valve Box. 7. D. Lynch made a 7 page PDF file to describe the HCAL (the return yoke the Magnet) originally requested by J. Cozzolino and M. Anerella. Unfortunately, they were not in the meeting. Nevertheless, the PDF file can be found in the above indico webpage. 8. Ed O'Brien raised the question again about what range of steels are acceptable (1006 ? 1020 ?) for the HCAL. I showed my presentation two weeks very quicly. P. Wanderer suggested that Ed might consult with Steve Plates and Mark Palmer who have recently got involved in similar steel purchases. |
