Hi Ray and Sonny,

Thanks for a lot !  At least, we've tried to make it work better (again).

Hi Kin,

Sonny and I adjusted pot 1 to the correct value.  This is not to say however that it will not run out of travel during cool down and test.  The readable distance is somewhat limited on these units.

Ray

Hi,

It'll be great if you can take a look and fix as soon as possible ...

Please let me once you do.

I have yet to get together with Sonny to read / adjust pot 1.  I’ll see if this can happen today.

Hi, Ray,

You promised to me a month ago that you would go to look at the linear pot for the 2nd time, for the other pot (pot 1) opposite to the one that you and Sonny fixed.  I mentioned to you the problem pot 1 had in the email below.

Did you do that ?

Hi,

I included the plots and the email below.  I heard that you looked at the pot 4 ?

I just remember ... if you look at the (old) plot for the linear pot opposite to pot 4 (which is pot 1), somehow it didn't rise (increase in length) ~half the time (when pot 2/3 were increasing)
and it only increased later to a lesser extent.

Have you looked at the pot 1 (opposite to the pot 4)  and/or understood why ??  Maybe, the whole thing was pulled to one side or ???

Kin

Hi,

Thanks !    Linear pot 4 was the one that didn't latch to anything at all some time during the cool-down and not usable afterwards.
I showed you the linear pot reading during warm-up.   Pot 2&3 rose nicely together ...  Somehow, pot 4 didn't rise for some time and
then rose.   Pots 2 & 3 are at opposite ends and so were pots 1 & 4.   Maybe, pot 4 was pulling on pot 3 ........

Just to remind you .... in case you don't remember :-)     ( I just grab all these from my email reports that I wrote before/after the test. )

Hi Kin,

Depending on what actually caused it to go bad.  I’ll try to get down there later this week and take a look.

Hi,

I suddenly remember one of the 4 linear pot. went bad (disconnected) during the low field test in Mar.

Do you think you may find a time to fix it ?  It's easier to do so now before they try to move the magnet on the new steel base and surround/close it with steel.
