I’ve just taken a picture of the return steel construction site at Bldg. 912 :

Not sure how much progress you may see from comparing this picture with the last one, but Jon Hock (who was walking away on the right-handed side of the picture) told me that they're about to finish drilling/tapping the roof steels  ... He’s predicting that we may be

able to move the Magnet in the week of June 12, 2017.  Only a week later than his prediction a few weeks ago J

 

D. Phillips is waiting for Jon for some nos. so that he can complete the critical lift document which Jon is working on.

 

D. Phillips is also responsible for laying out the cable tray etc. which I’ve reminded him again J

Earlier this week (Tue.), after finishing the work in STAR, I met with Frank Toldo, P. Giannotti and Tom Tallerico in Bldg. 1008.

I saw the strain gauge cable bundled with the connectors.   I met with them because I suspected that they missed a few connections

(though those channels haven’t functioned well) and indeed I was right.   Frank/Tom have just confirmed that Frank has finished the C7 connections (~4 connections).

The requisition for making the bare board was made late last Friday (N. Day and Carl Schultheiss) and the PO was out earlier

this week.  The expected due date is June 7, 2017.   (  It’s a Chicago company but it’s probably a Chinese company which is making it. )

 

Carl told me that the front-end board is signed off by J. Sandberg and Carl is working with Ron Zapasek to get quotes to stuff the board with all components and make panels.

 

Writing to here, I’ve suddenly remembered about some components (for this front-end board) that Carl & Ron have purchased through the requisition/PO (instead of credit cards) : 0000333174.   Carl said that the items are available (in stock) in DigiKey but somehow Jo Ann Reed (the buyer ?) is using a small business which may take months.  The due-date has been Sept. 29 (which is too late !).  Jo Ann said on May 26 that “she will do her best to try and get these as soon as possible”.  I’m just sending her an email and leaving her a message to inquire about this.

 

Carl has also promised to deal with purchasing the 100’ voltage-tap cable next week …

 

 

(4) Winston Pekrul is working with J. Morris to make the ‘automatic” current ramp so that P. Rosas just needs to press a button to ramp up the current.   I’m waiting for the status at the time of writing this …
