- Subject: [Sphenix-magnet-l] some limits in the procedure ?
- Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2017 15:27:23 -0400
Hi Joe, Don Lynch suggested that you put down some limiting statements in the procedure such as : No polarity change No current higher than (say) 4850 A Ramp rate < (say) 3.3 A/s So that we won't go over these limits during the time of testing. What do you think ?? The above nos. are just examples and I've based on the document below and your run plan. In Volume 5.1 Design and Quality Control Report GENERAL MAIN COMPONENTS.pdf \\bnl.gov\c-adnas\babar\Volume 5 DESIGN AND QUALITY CONTROL REPORT\5.1 GENERAL AND MAIN COMPONENTS they did their "first" real test (inside BaBar detector), apart from the slower ramp rate at the top like 0.5 A/s (from 4400 to 4610 A), they also mentioned that they had tried at ~4830 (or 4826) A and held it for 14 hours [ pdf page 25 ]. They also measured that at 1.7A/s, the temp. rise was 0.1K ; at 2.7A/s, the temperature rise was 0.2 K :-) Kin |
