This picture was taken at 11:39 am this morning (Oct. 13, 2017) :

you can see that all the vertical bars of the handrail of the platform seem to have been installed.  The carpenters

are working on the horizontal bars.   It’s really not too far away from finishing, right ?!

 

Unfortunately, I was told that we’ll lose the carpenters ~this afternoon and the handrail won’t be completed today.

 

This morning, in the weekly Facility and Expt. Support scheduling meeting, the carpenters are scheduled to come back

to finish this handrail on Monday and they’ve scheduled riggers (and carpenters) for the Valvebox installation on Tuesday

(Oct. 17, 2017).  [  We need to take away one section of the handrail for the Valvebox installation and put  horizontal bars

back after the installation. ]

 

I hope you’re OK with the Tuesday (Oct. 17) Valvebox installation.   Please let me know as soon as possible if you have a problem.

 

I hope my “n := n+1” ( n = business date ) iteration in the last few days is finally coming to an end  at  n = “2017-10-17” !!!

PS:

 

In the meantime, M. Rau from PHENIX and his colleagues have been installing the cable trays and in fact I have arranged them to

talk with Paul Orfin and other Cryo colleagues to avoid any conflict between their cable trays and those of Cryo’s.  They have

reached some sorts of agreement.   Rau & Co. right now are making a small cable tray from Cryo Rack to the location of the Carl’s

rack for some small no. of signal cables and network.  [ Rich Meier can use that path, too, for his one cable from the Cryo Plant. ]

 

Water pipes for the Power Supply (and Dump Resistor) are also being installed.
