Thanks for the work.   At 9 am, your colleagues (Ed Dabrowski ...) told Carl and I that they just wanted to clamp the cable and would finish in an hour.   So, after an hour, Carl came back and saw nobody upstairs any more and then he and Pablo just used this opportunity to do his short-circuit test.   [  As I said in another email, like a guerrilla action ... ]

 

Are you going to make stand for the 535 MCM before next Tuesday ??   Or, when can you come back to make the stand ??  I thought that you told

me that we're your top priority in OverTime ???

 

The short-circuit test is done (which is good !) and we don't need the copper bar in the middle connecting the +ve  and  -ve copper bars

(I hope you know what I mean).   So, please put the copper bar aside (on the floor or somewhere but please don't throw it away yet as you never

know ...).  

 

We still need to do a hipot test.   If miraculously, you finish everything before Tuesday, please leave the cables disconnected so that

we can do the hipot test.   Otherwise, please do whatever it's necessary ... and we have to wait for you to finish.

 

I really hope you can help us make the stand.  If you can't, please at least tell us what the plan/time-scale is.   ( If your time-scale is too bad,

we may need to think of finding someone though it's tough ... :-(  The Cryo has been cooling down using the He and it'd get to 10K in the weekend and when personnel arrives on Tuesday, they'll get from 10K to 4K.   So, we'll be really "cold" there.   Now, what stands between us and the actual work to use the entire Magnet (connected by those MCM cables) is just the hipot test, cable stand, connections and Mike Lenz's box.

 

Please help  !!!     We're begging ...

We installed the clamps on the cables to hold them from falling any further.

I told you we would be working on it Sat. but we are going to be working on another project with an approaching deadline.

When we complete that job, we will be back to make stand for 535MCM.

Due to testing we were unable to go any further when my guys were available to disconnect.

Hi Karl,

Maybe, I am thinking too much ... but just a minor thing here.

When you try to clamp the cables (tonight), you may pull the cables by a tiny bit (like millimeters) here or there.  Since it's claimed that the cable connection is tight with
the Current Leads at the ValveBox, please pull the cables towards the direction of Current Leads/ValveBox, NOT downards.  This may "buy" us some millimeters
so that it may be a tiny bit looser :-)
