Hello,

Dave Phillips told me that the things that I've listed in the email below (eg. removing the magnetic probes is going to happen  ... soon).

Hello Dave,

I see that the sPHENIX Flux Return steel box has been opened and even the wooden staircase is there.

( I checked with Brian 10 minutes ago and then came down to look ... )

Have we reversed the pre-load for the Cryostat that Jon Hock and Jim Mills have wanted to do ??

I wonder what you're thinking ..

I think what needs to be done is like :

(1) Ask  Achim (who's back) and his helpers to dismantle the magnetic probes/the frames

[  Sometimes ago, people talked about surveying the probe positions.  But I looked at the field strength

    inside the Magnet.   1 meter to the left/right or up/down, it's pretty much 1.36-1.37 T.  Our measurements

    of low magnetic field couldn't be due to its non-centering.    So, I consider this survey moot.  ]  ;

(2) Put back the vertical ladder (so that people can climb up to the interior platform) ;

(3) Invite Ray Ceruti to check whether he can work with the internal doghouse without removing the roof steel.

What do you think ??

Kin
