Hi,

After I saw John Benante, I went to Bldg. 912 to check and indeed I saw that all the MCM cables from the platform to the dump resistor/power supply have been removed.

Dave Phillips told me that they’re now stored in Bldg. 926 --- mostly useless but just in case.

For the next step (towards eventually removing the platform/Valvebox), I understand that Dave will go to see when electricians will have time to remove the power outlets.

This also means that the vacuum pump and other Cryo stuff may need to be switched off.   This is also the time that the Cryo group may want to pump in dry nitrogen etc.

I attach a plot of temperature and most sensors around the Magnet Coil seem to show close to ~270 K.

Other miscellaneous activities of sPHENIX Magnet in my mind (that I know of) :

  1. I am still waiting for Mike Anerella/Paul Kovach to start their “tool-making” activities as in our schedule.  I understand that Jim Mills has been talking with them also …

  1. Roberto Than/Carl Schultheiss needs to update the P6 spreadsheet (schedule and budget), after a meeting last week with Glenn, Rich and Irina in Physics Dept. in which we agreed on what/how to proceed.   Joe Tuozzollo is also waiting for them (and C. Folz) to fill in the blanks for the repair and moving activities.

  1. Paul Orfin and Bob Meier are designing the placement of Cryo equipment on the platform in 1008 and John Hock is doing the platform for the Cryo and the HCAL (return yoke) etc.    There have been a lot of meetings among themselves and Jim Mills, C. Folz and Physics Dept. personnel et. al.

  1. Tom Tallerico are making boards for measuring Cryo temperature in a long distance (for the 1008 operation).  They copied the board that Pasquale sent to us a few months ago and made enough boards for the tens of  channels that they need.
