Hi,

I think you mention these 5 signals mainly because they're among the signals in your J3 and J6 (the BaBar naming) cables.

J6:

TS-92 and TS-32 are strain gauges (not temperature).

TT04 and TT05 are temperature sensors (not used).

J3:

TT01/TT02/TT03 are the temperature sensors that we need.

Say, definitely, I can say that we can disregard TT04/TT05 but we definitely need TT01/TT02/TT03.

For TS-32/TS-92, they were open/grounded during the high-field test, according to Paul Giannotti: https://collab.external.bnl.gov/sites/sPHENIX-Magnet/Lists/Calendar/DispForm.aspx?ID=153

Apparently between doghouse and the top of chimney.  The problem would probably be the same.  But if you don't mind, maybe, let's try again in 1008 for these two signals TS-32 and TS-92.

So, I'd like to say that we need TS-32 and TS-92 in your J6 bundle/cable.

In conclusion, we need TS-32/TS-92 and TT01/TT02/TT03 but not TT04/TT05.

Paul,

From the documents prepared by Rich Meier for the high power test in 912 the following 7 CLTS sensors were wired out by cryo but went to the “Strain Gauge rack”.

  From connector J6 these 4 sensors TS-32, TS-92, TT-04 and TT-05 and from connector J3 these 3 sensors TT-01, TT02 and TT-03 for a total of 7 sensors.

I currently have these 7 sensors planned to wire out of J3 and J6 with the sensors we will read in our system that also come out of those connectors to a separate section of terminal block in our IP8 junction box and send 1 of our 32 conductor cables to the “Strain Gauge rack” wherever that is placed.

The question I have is should we proceed with this plan or do we want to read these sensors through our circuitry into our PLC and “share” those signals with whomever wants to see them via data transfer through the network?
