Also, 4 of the 5 spools from AET passed our testing. The last line is being tested now. They passed pressure tests already at the vendor. This was a confirmation after shipping.
Thank you, Paul Orfin

Hi Paul,
Did the vendor respond to your concern ? The bid/award decision hasn’t been made yet, right ? Just checking before the L2 meeting….

Sorry, the green sheet might not fully be signed at this point. I am not sure if Jim signed it since he had some rigging questions for Brian. I hope Jim will review the documents by Thursday.
Thank you, Paul Orfin

Kin,
I gave feedback to the first LN2 vendor on the list last week. The quote they gave was for the wrong size of piping and they had several exceptions that needed to be addressed. I’ll have to wait for their response before fully making a decision to select or rule them out.
One of the piping spools were tested on Friday with good results. A manifold was made to test multiple core lines at the same time to speed up the process. We are hoping to get vacuum group support this week on the helium mass spectrometer to confirm leak rates. Detailed planning for the installation is underway or complete. The Green sheet is signed and specific parts (piping and hardware) are ordered or in the process of getting ordered.
Thank you, Paul Orfin

Hi,
I’m writing my powerpoint for this week’s sPHENIX project L2 manager meeting this Thursday. I’m mentioning the arrival of 5 spools and you’re working on #1.3 and as soon as the cryo deck is ready, you guys will go to work on #4..5.
Ed O’Brien said this morning that the LN2 project is close to being awarded ? Apparently < $250K …. If you hear more details before this Thursday, please let me know.
Is there another interesting item or 2 that I may add for the Cryo status / progress ?
