Hi,
We don’t have many meetings and I hope people will come when we have a meeting. I’ve arranged a sPHENIX Magnet Meeting this Wed. :
https://bnl.zoomgov.com/j/1604975925?pwd=Zmg5VnNxQmtWNUovSkFmRkV3YXFiZz09
The agenda is :
https://indico.bnl.gov/event/11319/
Agenda :
I have called Ray Ceruti and he said he will come. All are welcome. But I hope at least Ray Ceruti, Mike Anerella, Paul Orfin, Roberto Than, Carl Schultheiss, Russ Feder and John Haggerty can join the meeting.

Kin,
When is the proposed test suppose to occur? As soon as the solenoid is delivered to 1008?
In the original dog house, we have 2 pair of lines. I am not certain of the end conditions of those lines (capped or open) since SMD was responsible for the connections. We can do a pressure hold test on those lines if caps are available for them. To do a helium mass spectrometer test would be more thorough but also more difficult since we would need to seal the vacuum boundary while keeping pressure on these internal lines. This means a custom flange would be needed to make those connections. Since SMD was responsible for the dog house, would it be possible to ask them to conduct such a test on the solenoid only? They are the best equipped to make such a custom flange and conduct the test. I am hesitant to add any additional tasks to our team since we don’t have time or manpower for it. Again, the risk of causing a leak in the transit from 912 to 1008 should be low. Is there a contingency plan if a leak is discovered?
We need to do a positive pressure test on the lines when the extended dog house is reconnected to the solenoid. However that means the platform needs to be ready to accept the solenoid valve box. Will the SMD be installing those pieces together again? This final test is in our scope so we will assist in that test but we will need SMD to seal the boxes and troubleshoot if there is an issue.
Thank you, Paul Orfin

Hi,
We said that we’d decide whether to leak check or not after the Magnet is shipped to 1008 Assembly Hall by the ESRC Review and the ESRC Review dry run is May 3.
Have you guys decided (more or less) ??? Or what is the status ??
