sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Just to write down that yesterday afternoon, I took the 4 extra/spare Al covers from Ray Ceruti (Bldg. 902) and placed them in the same cabinet in 1008 trailer that we’ve placed other sPHENIX Magnet items.

Good Morning Kin and Frank,

 

     Digging through some old boxes in places I don’t usually look I found four additional XPhenix aluminum disc covers with o-rings and some of their screws.  These items were probably part of the original shipment from California that weren’t used because they had been replaced by the discs that house the proximity sensors.  You should have these parts in the event that if some time in the future it is decided that you no longer need the data from those finicky proximity sensors, they could be replaced with these port covers.
