sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Attached are two photos.  “2022046_111953.jpg” shows that Ray Ceruti has put on the cap for the chimney after he put in the “restraint” --- in fact, he had to get back to his shop

in 902 to machine the “skirt” a little before he can install it.   He’s also installed the rod across the Valvebox but he’s missing the BIG tie-wrap to tighten the Current Leads to the rod.

So, Ray is going to purchase the BIG tie-wrap and come back to install the tie-wrap again which he said should take him another 10 minutes.

 

After that, the Cryo Group (Paul Orfin) has agreed to clean up the stuff at the top of the Valvebox ( I see stuff like meters, screws/nuts, scales … junks) and bag the Valvebox before the transportation.

 

I also took a picture of the position where one of our 3 Magnet Crash buttons in 1008 (IR/Control Room) will be placed --- above the “currently marked “PHENIX CRASH BUTTON”.  It’s in the North-East

side of the Shielding Block that John Haggerty demands.   So, somehow, the wires from the West Wall need to come to this North-Eastern side of the IR.   Frank Toldo told me that there would be

various cable trays near/on the floor and we can direct the cable from the top of the West Wall, down to the floor and go through the floor to the North-Eastern location shown in the picture. 

I also informed Joel Vasquez and he also thinks this plan is reasonable 😊
