Hi,
Thanks Jim’s pictures related to the pole-tip door installation in 1008 --- I think it’s better they are kept in the mailing list rather than my mailbox, and I include his descriptions about the past progress and future plan. He was discussing it with Glenn, Paul Orfin and myself.

I should probably also emphasize that the upper platform framing is not the decking. That will come next after the doors are installed and/or during down time when we are not installing the doors.

We will be working on the upper platform framing tomorrow and on overtime on Saturday in order to finish it. I think there may be some minor work on the VB support that needs to be done next week. We should get the top rails for the pole tips back from the shops late next week (south side) which I think we should install before we install the valve box. So, I believe we are still a week away from moving the box over to B1008. As Kin said, I want to make sure we have a good plan for transporting the VB over to B1008, setting it up in the hall temporarily, and then installing it onto the detector. I think we need to finalize that next week. I also want to make sure we have an optimum location (sweet spot) for the detector before we build the scaffolding because once we build the scaffolding, we won’t be able to move the detector until we have installed the VB. We (the team) need to think this through. As a minimum, we don’t want to build the scaffolding until we have all he pole tip doors in. We brought over the N/W door this afternoon so that once we adjust the north brackets, we can set the door in place. Then we have one door to go.
I have included some pictures of the door installations over the last three days. |
