Hi Dan and Ray,
Around 4 pm, I happened to run into a group of Cryo group fellows at 1008. They told me that the pressure for the He line seems to be successful at 40 psi (i.e., no leak in your helium line/joint in the Doghouse). But when they try to go to 80 psi, an o-ring (or something) at the top of the Valvebox (where they pump in the He gas and was made by the Cryo group) blew and couldn’t hold 80 psi. So, they’re making a new “stuff” to replace the bad one.
Tomorrow morning, they’ll redo the test at 80 psi (their standard/threshold). Typically, if things go bad, it’d be well before 40 psi. So, I’m taking an optimistic prediction, they’ll succeed tomorrow morning.
I understand that Ray would want to install a cold-bar before we can do the hipot.
Dan: Carl agrees that we should wait for you to change the connector (by 90 deg.) and reconnect all the voltage taps, before we do the hipot. Could you please try to starting doing this as soon as possible like tomorrow ? Please orient the end of the voltage tap towards the East (the side of roll-up door of 1008 Assembly Hall, away from the IR).
