I just chatted with Chintan Sheth over the phone.   From his email below (in which I changed one of the “Valve box” to “Cold box” for clarity) and our conversation, we hope that we can start pumping down today and so we can make use of the weekend for pumping down. 

 

On Monday, we can sniff for He (leak check).   Chintan will coordinate with the Vacuum Group.  { The Cryo group often works very closely with the Vacuum group. )

Hi Kin,

They finished pressure test of the process line this morning after welding it yesterday. They will wrap the MLI now and then weld clamshell this afternoon.

That will close the vacuum boundary from Solenoid valve box to the IP8 Coldbox. Then we can start pumping it down to do the leak check.

So I am hoping they can start pumping down from this evening is all work is complete.

Hi Chintan,

 

Wed. late afternoon, you told me that you couldn’t do the leak check for the Magnet Valvebox/Doghouse/entire-Magnet because something is not closed.

 

Are you in a position to do these tests now ??
