Dear John,

I somehow made a mistake in my last email on Friday (as I viewed the picture incorrectly by 90 deg.).

They should be (as the attached LP.jpg shows) :

NW - LP4

NE- LP3

SW - LP1

SE - LP2

I just came in (this Sat. morning) to correct my markings on the cables/wheels on the 1008-IR platform. The markings are correct now.  Sorry for the confusion (if any).

Kin

PS:

In 1008, I saw also technicians from Rob Karl's group working on the water-cooled-buses (WCB) in addition to Joel Vasquez and his colleagues.  By chance, I have confirmed with them the order of the WCB pipes "Supply+ Return- ..  .. Supply+ Return-" with the technicians there while they're connecting 535 MCM cables with the WCB.

Hello John,

As we have discussed, I have marked the 4 wheels/cables.   Frank Toldo’s guys marked them as NW, NE, SW and SE; and

I’ve just added the markings:

NW – LP3

NE – LP2

SW – LP4

SE – LP1

These (1/2/3/4) are just consistent with what we have had since Low Field Test.   Please let me know when you finish wiring the 12 wires.

( Just in case … I attach the mapping file that Leonard Masi sent me a couple months ago which seemed to be the right one.   Not your Sept. 8 version. )   I heard from Frank that his 2 out of 3 colors (green/red) match with the linear-pot colors, except “white” which will be the “yellow” wire of the linear-pot.

Thanks for finding out that wires “AA” and “z” actually got ~300 Ohm for TT02 --- so we can still use it 😊  I have verified it myself at 1008B mezzanine.

And thanks Dave for noticing we had connected “White/Black/Green” (wrong) instead of the appropriate “White/Green/Black” !

I would have never recognized this myself (though I looked at this a couple times myself ).   This fixes the “open” problem for

one wire in TT01 that Winston Pekrul has noticed.

Hi John and Leonard,

The mappings that I got it from Leonard were the ones that were mapped ... after some confusion, if we look at the old spreadsheet ... The new one is not correct !

Dave measured the TT02 and he confirmed that it's opened ... like what we have seen.  So, the problem may be in the junction box in 1008-IR platform.   John has agreed to check ..

Because Nils on July 25 claimed that he measured close to ~300 ohms for TT02. ( There were 4 wires for TT02, in principle, any one combination read ~300 ohms would be good enough ! ... we don't need all combinations to be good. )

Dave did find out that one of the wires that we connected was wrong ... because of

White/Green/Black  and White/Black/Green !   Both exist and Chris Wise used the wrong one (another one is spare) !!!

Dave has promised to help fix after his lunch.

These cables should be on 1008B mezzanine according to our paper work which matches your sheet. My Techs are going to check it out. Where were you trying to take measurements? Len

Hi,

I attach the spreadsheet and a picture of the original BaBar mapping --- the nos. are different but what Nils still uses

in his spreadsheet are those v, u, t,w,z y,x …..

So, for TT02, it should be between x and y …. If you assign a guy, please ask him to talk to me because he’s probably very confused,

as I’m the one who knows the most about this in Nils’ absence.  The thing that I don’t know is the location of your signals on the 1008B first floor.

Hi,

For TT-02, you measured “x” and “y” on J-3, right ?  ( I attach your original spreadsheet. )

Can you please let me know ?

Hi,

I seem to have problem with TT02 especially (in 1008B-mezzanine).

TT-01 measured 295.6 ohms, TT-02 measured 294.9 ohms and TT-03 measured 295.5 ohms. None of the sensors measured to ground.

Did you measure these three resistors in 1008-IR platform  or you measured them in 1008B ?

If you did it in 1008-IR, can you please re-measure them in 1008B  ??

Hi,

Are TT01 / TT02 / TT03 (in the J3 cable) working according to your test ?

They the temperature sensors used by strain gauges.
