Hi,
The mechanical group (of Rob Karl) has helped take off the short-circuit bars and reconnect the braids to the Current Leads. ( They needed to cut off one of the bolt/nut that refused to be unscrewed. )
I’ve finished all the check-off list and got the signatures as show in the Sharepoint : Check-Off List for Energization of Magnet.pdf
Though we planned to do hipot after the braids were reconnected this afternoon, we couldn’t as there was a serious LOTO discussion such that we couldn’t go up the platform until they sorted out the LOTO business. The LOTO procedure/box were arranged only around 6:30 pm. Tom Tallerico wore CAT3 suite and LOTO-ed 4 of the North/South carriage 208 V panels (according to my observation). Honestly speaking, it’s a major performance 😊
We’ll try to do the hipot in the weekend ….
Hopefully, on Monday, Pablo can do his “compensation” work. Pablo told me that since the total resistance due to water-cooled-buses now (something like ~517 micro-ohm) is close to 666 micro-ohm in 2018, it’s possible that he may not need to do anything. Then, it’d be quick. After that, Carl will start his magnet testing procedure …
Kin
PS:
The new LOTO drama had nothing to do with the Magnet Power Supply LOTO but the LOTO expert was brought in because of Magnet Power Supply LOTO business (in the first place). |
