Hello,

After they installed the baker scaffold, Frank Toldo has helped disconnect
the connector below the Extension Doghouse.
Carl hipoted again after that. The same problem has remained. ( So, we're
asking Frank to put the connector back. )

Next, after we (Carl and I) discussed with Jim Mills, we're asking the FES
mechanical group to help disconnect the braids
with the Current Leads at the top of the sPHENIX platform hopefully next
Monday ( see email below ). With this, we
can at least tell whether it's inside the Magnet or in the water-cooled-buses.

Since the 4K wave won't even start until May 8. We have some time to
investigate 😊 ☹

Dear Marianna and all,

We have problem in hipot-ing the Magnet and water-cooled-bus up to the Dump
Resistor. Now we need to isolate where the problem is.

The coming Monday (Apr. 17) or as soon as possible, can you please help
disconnect the braids at the Current Leads (at the top of the 3rd floor of
sPHENIX Carriage) ? By disconnecting, I mean, please take the braids off
completely (on both sides).

In fact, this time when we reconnect them, as Carl demands, please use
phosphor-bronze nuts and bolts with bellville washers. Carl
Schultheiss said that he can provide those phosphor-bronze nuts and bolts and
the bellville washers. He said that "stainless-steel"
bolts on stainless steel bolts are no good 😊

But please disconnect them first so that we can try to hipot again to isolate
the problem.

Your help will be greatly appreciated 😊
