Hello,
After the FES (Facility & Expt. Support) mechanical group put back the braids with Carl’s silicon-bronze nuts and Belleville washers, we did the hipot for the entire system (up to Dump Resistor) again. { We couldn’t use Carl’s silicon-bronze bolts because they’re not long enough and so we just used the old stainless steel bolts, with the silicon-bronze nuts. }
We hipoted the entire Magnet and water-cooled-buses up to Dump Resistor again. It’s again successful. When there was no problem, hipot-ing was very fast.
I attached the nos. that Carl wrote down.
With the Magnet only, we really see no (0) leakage current (Carl’s “hipot meter” only can measure down to 10 micro-amp).
Including the water-cooled-buses, the leakage currents indicate about 5 Mega-Ohm (from the magnet bus to ground), which is good enough.
