I don’t think there is any helium in RHIC yet, so I

don’t know if there is an ODH hazard yet.

That said, the door had the ODH sign exposed.

Just to make a note here that the hipot test for sPHENIX Magnet passed (at 90-100K) before noon today.  On Mar. 18, our magnet will follow RHIC to go down in temperature to ~45 K (though the temperature may go up first as we need to purge the nitrogen and stop cooling for a day or two).

We had 2 DOE site office (BHSO) staff accompanying one DOE personnel doing assessement on our procedure.   Mike Dany (C-AD Work Control Manager) offered them a few options and they chose this one to "assess".
The DOE assessor told me that he just came to observe whether you did what you said you'd do and he said that it's not a "big deal"

By comparison, the  2 BHSO personnel picked a few imperfections of us :

(1) Carl/we didn't put down "ODH" in the work permit.  We copied the old one when 1008B was not an ODH area and now it's.

(2) During our conversation, the exhaust fan turned on which created so much noise that we could hear each other.  Chris O'Shea brought a meter and found that it's 3db over the limit.  So, we missed the "noise" part.
Of course, the exhaust fan only worked after this summer shutdown.  It has never worked before :-)

(3) We used to open the door to cool the mezzanine floor.  Pat Sullivan (BHSO) told us that we shouldn't/couldn't do that as the ODH sign would be covered.  So, we had to close it.

(4) They also noticed that Pablo Rosas and his team used a yellow warning sign but it should be one with "Cautioin : Require Permission".   Tim Costanzo came down to 1008A (from 1008B) and luckily I knew what/where those tapes are in 1008A and gave him.

Pablo Rosas had to do a briefing front of all the DOE/BHSO persons and it's like a show.  Carl was cool enough and the BHSO allowed us to go ahead (in spite of the work permit omission) for the hipot.

The insulating vacuum was on and the hipot passed without any problem.  Probably all the DOE assessment / evaluation has helped us :-)
