Hi,
It turns out that it’s a problem/confusion of inappropriate name.
The “huge” dump resistor doesn’t really have water cooling.
The water supply going into the dump resistor cabinet feeds a bus bar that goes through the DCCT in the dump cabinet. This bus bar is part of the entire magnet circuit and it’s the thinner portion that they’re trying to cool. So, after all, it’s ~appropriate interlock.

Kin, Just questioning the interlock. When we lose the cooling water to dump resistor, we should not want to put energy/heat into the dump until cooling water is back. So, the interlock should not discharge to dump resistor. R. |
