Dear Ming, All,

it is very nice to see these results. Congratulations to the MVTX team!

Dear all,

Great progress with our first 4-sensor MVTX telescope at Fermilab test beam!

We have successfully taken data at Fermilab test beam with a system consists of the complete sensor + readout chain,
4 ALPIDE sensors + 1 RU + 1 FELIX + sPHENIX RCDAQ Server

First online data plot of MAPS hit distributions from the 4-sensor telescope (average beam intensity ~ 1 particle per trigger from 120GeV proton beam, trigger rate ~5,000Hz)

and many happy faces from today (background is the sPHENIX MVTX telescope setup),

and, for the first time we can see MVTX + INTT + EMCal + HCal all together …. at Fermilab 😉

Many people, in particular Sho, Alex, Hubert, Sanghoon, Darren, Kun, Pat, Chris, Walt, Xuan, Andi and Cesar et al, have put tremendous amount of work to make today’s success!

ALICE ITS group also has provided wonderful support to make a few additional sensors at last minute request to fit our test beam schedule, many thanks to Luciano et al for your strong support!

More photos can be found at,

and earlier ones,

We continue taking more data for the rest of the week (mostly in the evening) to further evaluate the telescope’s performance for optimization, and detailed offline data analysis is underway.

Cheers,
Ming
