Hi Cameron,

Your abstract looks good to me. I think it is okey to leave it as a general talk if INTT is the only other one from sPHENIX.

Cheers,

Ming

Hi all,

I put together an abstract for ICHEP2020 and am circulating it here as well as with the SB. The submission deadline is tomorrow in central Europe so that would probably be lunch East Coast Time (daylight savings starts tomorrow in the US but in 3 weeks in Europe so that gives me an extra hour).

I wrote the abstract as a general sPHENIX talk but I see now that we have a dedicated INTT talk. I’m happy to leave the talk as a general experiment talk or tweak the title and add in a couple of sentences about the MVTX to make it a dedicated MVTX talk.

Cheers,
Cameron

Hi,

Sorry that this abstract is very last minute. We only received this request yesterday and they have requested we submit this today. My title and abstract is:

The sPHENIX experiment at RHIC

The sPHENIX experiment is the successor the PHENIX experiment at RHIC and is optimized to study heavy flavor and jets arising from heavy ion collisions. The detector utilizes advanced technologies such as a monolithic active pixel vertex detector while also repurposing technologies originally from other high energy experiments such as BaBar, ATLAS and ALICE. In this talk we will show the design and status of the sPHENIX detector whilst also presenting the projected physics capabilities and planned measurements that the collaboration will work to achieve. sPHENIX is expected to begin data taking in 2023.

I would be happy to give this talk but due to possible DOE travel restrictions to the Czech Republic we can also make this open to anyone else in the collaboration. If you are happy with this abstract then I can forward it to Stefania.

Cheers,
Cameron

P.S. Please use my CERN email for now as my BNL email keeps getting blocked.

Dear friends,

I’m told there are still no abstracts about upgrades of RHIC experiments submitted to ICHE2020 conference.

In case you’re interested in giving a talk please send me an abstract within tomorrow evening.

I’m convener of the detector upgrade session and I will communicate your interest to the local organisers.

Best

stefania
