Hi Sitong,

Thanks for the nice abstract, the contents look very good.

I think there were some typos due to drop-off some letters/words in your text.

“result up” results

“Charge diusion” -> Charge diffusion

“need” ->needs

Etc.

  • Here is a slightly edited version

sPHENIX is a next generation high speed multipurpose detector focused on jet, Upsilon and

open heavy favor programs. MVTX is a fast MAPS-based vertex detector designed for precise

primary and secondary vertex measurements. Our group focuses on the MVTX detector simulation and track reconstruction using the sPHENIX software. We have been tuning the MVTX MC cluster size distributions using the 2019 Test Beam Data with 120GeV proton beam. A threshold of deposited energy on pixels needs to be applied to match the simulated cluster distributions

to the Test Beam Data. Charge diffusion will also affect the energy deposit, ranging from effective minimal R to

maximal R. We divide a track’s total pathlength in sensor into N segments, then calculate the overlapping area of

circle in pixels to distribute energy deposition in the corresponding segment, and sum up all segments to get the

total energy deposit in each pixel. We have matched the cluster size distributions in simulation to the ones

from TB data, and also compared the simulation results with the TB data taken with several different incident angles, up to 40-degree.

Subject: [Sphenix-maps-l] Abstract for DNP

Hi all,

The following is my abstract for Test Beam data analysis.

sPHENIX is a next generation high speed multipurpose detector focused on jet, Upsilon and

open heavy avor programs. MVTX is a fast MAPS-based vertex detector designed for precise

secondary vertex measurement. Our group focuses on the simulation and reconstruction of MVTX

in sPHENIX software. We have been tuning the MVTX cluster size with the 2019 Test Beam Data.

A threshold of deposite energy on pixels need to be introduced to match the simulation result up

with Test Beam Data. Charge diusion will aect the energy deposit, ranging from minimal R to

maximal R. We divide the step in sensor into N segments, then calculate the overlapping area of

circle with pixels to distribute energy deposit in the segment, and sum up all segments to get the

total energy deposit on each pixel. We matched the cluster sizes of simulation result with the one

of TB data, and compared the TB data of 120 GeV protons with simulation result at dierent

angles.

If you have any suggestions, feel free to contact me.

Thank you!

Best,

Sitong
