Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the updates and discussions in the topical group meeting tonight. Please find the minutes below and on the agenda page. Please also feel free to discuss more on the email thread and on the MatterMost chats
Participants: Cameron Dean, Deepa Thomas, Guannan Xie, Hideki Okawa, Jin Huang, Long Ma, Ming Liu, Sanghoon Lim, Sourav Tarafdar, Weihu Ma, Xin Dong, Yuanjing Ji, Zhaozhong Shi, Yasser Corrales Morales
Welcome - Hideki & Jin

Jin: Updating projection plot with new luminosity projection for BUP this week.
Ming: Streaming readout in year-1, if we decide to take p+p jet-calibration data? Jin: We have the hardware, but it could be challenging to make it fully working in few weeks of p+p data taking. Nonetheless, it helps to commission the streaming DAQ for the year-2 physics data taking.
B_s update - Zhaozhong Shi Summary: the first exercise with the background machinery for B_s by adopting the D0/Lc fast simulation tool from Yuanjing.
Slide 2: Xin: please also consider and validate the oscillation loss of B_s <-> B_s_bar, or simulate both
Slide 5: Yuanjing, Yasser: We should use identified particle spectra in generation and smearing. The correlated number of particle species.
Slide 10: Jin: RHIC spectra and sPHENIX pT resolution and DCA 2D lineshape, so best estimation of the sPHENIX performance at 200 GeV AuAu collisions
Slide 11: Zhaozhong: the cos(theta) distribution is unexpected (bipolar) Xin: Please check signal truth B_s cos(theta) distribution first
Slide 12: Xin: Please zoom-in for the Phi mass difference histogram, as the resolution should be much better than the bin size
Jin: How background normalization is handled in the fast simulation setup? Xin: The fast simulation generates the entire AuAu event that is aimed to match charged particle production. Normalization is to scale up the background to the number of collision events.
DD correlation - Long Ma Summary: starting the exploration of D-D correlation and discussed the initial outlook and plan.
Slide 5: Jin: Geant4 simulation of the p+p background could be challenging. Suggest starting with the fast simulation for p+p to get an estimation for the background for p+p too.
Slide 9: Xin, Ming, Long: AuAu D-D pair are correlated pairs, there are also higher non-correlated background.
General: Deepa: Would you like to look at D0 D+ correlation? D+ could bring more statistics by capturing more BR. Long: Yes. Great suggestion.
MVTX for EIC? - Ming Liu Summary: restacking MVTX fits EIC well.
Ming: Eta coverage is 1.5-2.0 with MVTX moved to the outer radius to accommodate the EIC beam pipe. But higher eta would go through the service barrel that is substantial as included in the sPHENIX simulation.
Jin: how much work to redesign the MVTX connections? Ming: would reuse the same active components but different mechanical structures in cable routing.
