PAC meeting went well:

Our efforts to enable the baseline data in the pp collisions is commended by the PAC.

Registration is free. (Thanks to Cameron for the link!)

KFParticle - Cameron

Summary: many progress on KFParticle integration, in particular handling of the intermediate states such as Bs->JPsi Phi -> (ee)(KK)

Slide 4: width narrow.

Cameron: probably constrained

Ming: impressive result. How about secondary vertex performance?

Cameron: working in progress

Jin: does cascade decays with multiple secondary vertexes require additional development on top of the current work?

Cameron: yes.

D0 D0_bar separation - Thomas

Summary: starting to look into the separation of D0 and D0_bar at sPHENIX

Zhaozhong: please double-checking the pi/pi, KK assumptions too, as there is a non-zero BR and become background to this analysis

Cameron: please trace the mass peaks back to the truth D0 or D0_bar while performing the background study. The additional background could arise from doubly Cabibbo suppressed decay and the D0-D0_bar mixing

Ming: curious to quantified the separation power

Thomas: on-going

Slide4:

Thomas: this data is from production, representing the pT integrated D0/D0_bar

Slide 5:

Cameron: please check performance back to the truth D0/D0_bar information

And on-going further offline discussion at

https://chat.sdcc.bnl.gov/sphenix/channels/hf-d0

Verbal updates

Guannan: fixed vertex selection by switching to the refit vertex, working on DCA with respect to the truth vertex.

Zhaozhong: Has a plan to move forward migrating the analysis to use EvtGen and Pythia8 in the sPHENIX software environment.

Hi Everyone,

This is a reminder that we will have our next HF topical group meeting on Sept. 14, Monday at 7PM ET.

The agenda will include:

- KFParticle update by Cameron Dean (LANL)

- Separation of D0 and D0_bar by Thomas Marshall (UCLA)

Indico: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/9379/

Bluejeans connection: https://bluejeans.com/428810790

Besides the meeting announcement, if you would like to volunteer for any topic listed below or add any other one, please let us know.
