Hi Sasha,
I hope you’re doing well, it’s been a while since we last had a chat. I was wondering if I could pick your brain about something? I saw at yesterdays Upgrade Ib/II electronics meeting that CERN has some worries about the CAEN modules that we’ve been using.
Specifically that the parts for repairs are going to be hard to source?
I’m working on an experiment that is aiming to use a nearly identical system to the VELO LV system and so I was wondering if you had heard anything about the future of these modules, how long CAEN will be supporting them for? I also heard that CERN has a list
of components that tend to fail in these modules. Do you know if this list exists?
Cheers,
Cameron
