Doodle poll for new meeting time for 2021 by the end of Friday (ET): https://doodle.com/poll/q4n3duy3bqy2ybfz?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link
Participants: Jin, Hideki, Cameron, Guanan, Long, Sanghoon, Sourav, Xin, Yuanjing, Zhaozhong
Introduction - Hideki Okawa
MDC1 samples related to us: pp samples with filters of HF signals, AuAu embedded sample, and use the large 0-10% AuAu sample for fake HF jet studies
Call for a volunteer production manager for the HF topical group. The computing team and TG will prepare the setup. And the manager submits jobs, make sure the job completes and the result data files are OK. Let us know if there is any question or volunteering for the work.
PYTHIA8 tune in pp 200 GeV - Sanghoon Lim, Woohyeong Park
Sanghoon: Checked the charged particle yield and HF yield against data for three candidate setups. Full Pythia HepMC sample would require 75k CUP-hours to generate.
Xin: any K factor and normalization of x-section? Sanghoon: did not use K-factor and found 42mb inelastic x-sec and reasonably good HF x-sec.
Update on Pythia8 tune for DD correlation - Long Ma
Long: redid the charm and charged particle yield check under Pythia8.1 and three proposed configurations.
Xin: There is v8.3 now? Sanghoon: Pythia v8.1 comes with default to cteq5L Long: will set up a test in RCF under the sPHENIX env.
Kaon spectrum: Xin: star data quoted are from non-single diffractive events on the Kaon spectrum. Be cautious on additional normalization when converting to x-sections. Long/Jin: will double-check offline with Sanghoon on this plot.
Update on KFParticle - Cameron Dean Cameron: updated KFParticle with improved modulization and IO object, ready for a pull request to coresoftware. Checked with MDC1 sample and runs OK.
Slide 6: Jin: At exception, suggest return Fun4AllReturnCodes::ABORTRUN , so making sure the user gets notified.
Slide 8: Lost half events, improve DIRA Xin: what was the unit of decay time? Cameron: directly from KFParticle in the unit of cm/c. Also available is decay length and user calculation of boosted decay time
Slide 13: Jin: econdary_vertex_mass_pionPID cut leads to high pT kaon preferences. Cautious in use. It maybe good for non-resonance jet/event categorization analysis as a demo by Sanghoon in b-jet tagging
Slide 17: Jin: event are filtered for D0->KPi, so not supprizing D0 has peak and others are not significant
Follow up: give a talk in simulation meeting tomorrow to request join coresoftware: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/7445/
