Hi Jo,
Thanks for the slides. We definitely need to follow up with ITS progress on
this matter.
1) It is interesting to see that ITS/IB L0-2 have much lower fraction of
large clusters (0.2%) than that of L4-6 (3%), I understand the readout modes
are different for IB and MB/OB.
2) I assume they used the long data format with clustering enabled, is that
right?

3) I looked at our test beam data from 2019,
https://www.phenix.bnl.gov/WWW/publish/mxliu/sPHENIX/GenMeetings/2019/MVTX-Test-Beam-Reprot-052019.pdf
Slides #16-18, and didn't see such anomaly shown in ITS reports (P3, and the
P2 in the detailed slides )
4) we also took some beam data with a range of ALPIDE threthold values, test
beam run informaiotn can be found on the sPHENIX wiki,
https://wiki.bnl.gov/sPHENIX/index.php/LongRunList
I am not sure what data format was used for the MVTX test beam, likley "short
data format", but we can check the configuration files.
Cheers,
Ming

At yesterday's ITS Technical Coordination meeting there was an
interesting presentation on a first look of ITS cluster sizes from the pilot
beam last year that I wanted to share here. One of the interesting aspects in
this presentation was the fact that there are quite a few very large clusters
that are not yet understood. Also it seemed to me that the average cluster
size was larger than what we had assumed in the past for our studies for the
readout rates in ITS (and thus probably also in MVTX?).
Cheers,
Jo
