Hi Ming, all,

That's great to hear, BNL will get a little less quiet now :).

Following from the approval, I had to email people about training courses. It's possible to do them all online now but you'll have to send follow up emails to get the links to the course material for two of them. I've copied in the emails I sent that got me the courses (I've added in changes I would have made with knowledge gained later in bold):

(1) Email to Achim Franz Franz, Achim (afranz AT bnl.gov) and Eirica Lamar (elamar AT bnl.gov):

Dear Erica and Achim,

I hope you’re both well. I am a postdoc from Los Alamos that recently received approval from BNL to perform on-site work for the MVTX and just received approval from LANL for the relocation. My aim is to start work from January 4th 2022 if possible and so I was wondering what site-specific training would be required for this to happen? I will be working in buildings 1008 and 512.

Any help you could give in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Cameron

(2) Email to Kelly Guiffreda (guiffreda AT bnl.gov) about C-AD (accelerator) training:

Hello Kelly,

I hope you’re well. I was looking through my training record and see I have two classroom trainings to do:

  • Collider User Initial Training
  • Physics Dept. Briefing

I'm now on-site at BNL to work on the sPHENIX commissioning and was wondering how I would arrange these trainings?

Cheers,

Cameron

(3) Email to Erica Lamar about physics department training:

Hi Erika,

I hope you’re well. I was looking through my training record and see I have been assigned physics department training. I spoke with Kelly Guiffreda who suggested I should contact you to arrange this? If this would be possible to do I’m now on-site at BNL to work on the MVTX commissioning so I’m happy to do the course in person, over Zoom or online.

Many thanks,
Cameron

Cheers,
Cameron

Dear all,

Just got the following message from BNL that MVTX team BNL access is approved!

“The ROOP request for your MVTX Team has been approved for onsite access beginning February 14, 2022.

Each must contact the Clinic at OMC AT bnl.gov to set up an appointment to validate their vaccines.

This can be virtually.  Further details regarding training will follow.”
