Greetings, just got off the phone with an engineer at 3M concerning possible shrinkage during cure time using DP490. She informed me that this epoxy is not made in the states but in France, so she was not familiar with possible shrinkage data, she is familiar with a similar epoxy that is made in the States DP460, she says it has a 2 – 4% shrinkage at room temperature cure (24 hours). If this a possible concern another epoxy that might be worth trying is DP270, its shrinkage specification is only .08%! This material has a 48 hour cure time at room temperature and may not have as high a tensile strength as well.
