Thank you Martin,
I will take of propagate the change to the DAQ script and modify the python script to run with the new names.
This will also affect ALF and ITSCommLayer so if something does not work with the telescope/MVTX system please let us (Jo/Me) know.
Best,
Yasser.

Dear all,
Yasser and I talked about this in passing yesterday that has been floating around a bit in offline circles. The "-" in the node name is used as a field delimiter in various contexts, and throws us off.
Yasser and I agreed to rename them simply to mvtx{0,1,2,3,4,5} and eliminate the problem in the future.
The new DNS entries are in place. I have already changed the hostnames. Both old and new names point to the same IP so nothing breaks for now:
# nslookup mvtx0.sphenix.bnl.gov
Server: 130.199.1.1
Address: 130.199.1.1#53
mvtx0.sphenix.bnl.gov canonical name = mvtx-flx0.sphenix.bnl.gov.
Name: mvtx-flx0.sphenix.bnl.gov
Address: 10.20.32.94
# nslookup mvtx-flx0.sphenix.bnl.gov
Server: 130.199.1.1
Address: 130.199.1.1#53
Name: mvtx-flx0.sphenix.bnl.gov
Address: 10.20.32.94
Please go and eliminate the old -flx* from scripts etc.
BTW, in order for all to be consistent, the hostname needs to be just the name without the .sphenix.bnl.gov.
Eventually I'll have the old names eradicated completely from the name servers.
Best,
Martin
