Hi folks,

 

We are getting very close to reinstalling the MVTX at sPHENIX.  We are planning for this to happen during the week of February 26th or during the following week of March 4th. 

 

As part of the maintenance work done on the device over the last few months a new latching mechanism for the north end of the detector was designed and made.  The details are very similar to what was originally fabricated, however there were problems last spring with fully closing and latching the MVTX.  This new design incorporates a more positive way of locking the MVTX together but requires us to reach into the central part of the detector with a tool in order to make the final connection. 

 

Since it is now slightly different than the original concept for installation, John (Haggerty) and I thought we should get a small group together to take a look at it.  We are hoping that you could join us.  If the proposed day and time is problematic for you, please let us know.
