Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Sphenix-maps-l] If in the future we need to remove the MVTX detector - - - -

Greetings, if in the future we need to remove the MVTX detector to make adjustments to the X-wing to have the detector better centered around the beampipe – I would suggest installing the MVTX mock-up detector. With this detector mounted to the X-wing making any necessary shims to better center the detector’s North end may be that much easier and less dangerous to the assembled MVTX, not tot mention NO services to be in the way. As you may remember the mock-up is suppose to represent the same mass as the assembled detector. I believe this may be the only way we can work with BNL survey to verify that both ends of the MVTX are in agreement with the beam-axis. Please remember the preface to this message is IF NEEDED!

Cheers,

Walter
